Why or why not?

Make a list in each category. Solicit the help of a courageous thinking partner, like a coach, who can challenge your thinking and help you get real about your strengths, weaknesses, assumptions, how you work with others including your behaviors and their consequences, unintentional or not.

What have you come up with? How satisfied are you with this picture of yourself? Are you in denial? Are you energized to grow? Now, what are you actually going to do?

That is leading yourself: a clear-eyed view of yourself and the courage to do something about it.

Leadership begins with leading yourself. Leading yourself begins with being self aware. So how self-aware are you? Now what are you going to do about it? If you aren't willing to do something about it, why should I follow you?
